Community Service

Community Service

King's Preparatory Academy proudly partners with families to prepare children for a life of leadership and faith. To this end, all families are given the opportunity to give back to KPA in the form of Community Service.

What is Community Service at KPA?
  1. A chance to connect with other parents in your child's grade, interest group, or Learning Path.
  2. An opportunity to partner with teachers, faculty, other parents and students as a part of the PTSO.
  3. A way to tithe your time to a worthy cause.
  4. A great way to engage with your child outside of school hours.
  5. A legacy gift of your time which keeps King's Prep strong and fruitful.
What Community Service at KPA is NOT.
  1. A punishment.
  2. Something teachers or other staff can do.
  3. Unimportant.
  4. Optional.

King's Prep is designed to keep class sizes small, offer diverse programs, and build a community of learners through the home-school connection. We need community partners like parent volunteers because it takes a village to change a village. Community Service hours are per family and must be completed each year. In addition to fifteen (15) hours of Community Service, parents must attend one Parent University Workshop per semester (2 total), offered the last Saturday of each month beginning in August.

As as family, please discuss ways your family will participate in Community Service using our Service Plan form. Remember, immediate family members over the age of 18 (living with the student) can fulfill community service hours. Please contact the Office of Student Services with any questions you may have.
